Job summary

The Stamford Plaza Brisbane, part of Stamford Hotels & Resorts, seeks a casual Handyperson for our Maintenance Department. You will perform general repairs and maintenance to keep the hotel running smoothly and safely, reporting to the Maintenance Manager and Chief Engineer.

With a minimum of 3 years in a maintenance role and hospitality experience as an advantage, you will work on a 7-day rotating roster, maintain high standards of guest service and presentation, and support a busy luxury hotel

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a maintenance role.
• Hospitality experience is an advantage.
• Strong time management and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Handle general repairs and maintenance around the hotel (e.g., lighting, taps, painting, drains, and A/C).
• Assist Maintenance Manager or Chief Engineer with tasks.
• Maintain excellent guest service and appearance.
• Comply with Occupational Health and Safety laws and safe work practices.
• Work on a 7-day rotating roster including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.

About the Role

We are currently seeking a casual experienced and professional Handyperson to join the Maintenance Department. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for the general repair, maintenance and operational requirements of the Hotel. You will report directly to and work closely with the Maintenance Manager and the Chief Engineer to ensure work is performed in accordance with the set standards and safe work practices.

Duties and Responsibilities

• General repairs and maintenance within the Hotel such as but not limited to changing light bulbs, fixing leaking taps, painting, clearing blocked drains / toilets, Checking Air Conditioning etc
• Any other duties as assigned by Maintenace manager or Chief Engineer
• Maintain exceptional customer servicewhen dealing with our guests
• Comply with all Occupational Health and Safety legislation
• Maintain excellent personal presentation standards at all times
• Be willing and able to work on a 7-day rotating roster with shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Skills and Experience

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a maintenance role
• Previous Hospitality experience is an advantage
• Mechanical / Electrical Trade qualifications will be a distinct advantage
• Have efficient and effective time management skills
• Be able to learn new information quickly with an eye for detail
• Be extremely team orientated
