Stamford Plaza Brisbane is seeking a casual Handyperson to join the Engineering Department. You will handle general repairs, maintenance and operational needs across the hotel, reporting to the Maintenance Manager and Chief Engineer.

Minimum 3 years in a maintenance role is expected; hospitality experience and mechanical/electrical trade qualifications are advantageous. Expect a 7-day rotating roster with shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

About the Role

We are currently seeking a casual experienced and professional Handyperson to join the Engineering Department. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for the general repair, maintenance and operational requirements of the Hotel. You will report directly to and work closely with the Maintenance Manager and the Chief Engineer to ensure work is performed in accordance with the set standards and safe work practices.

Duties and Responsibilities

• General repairs and maintenance within the Hotel such as but not limited to changing light bulbs, fixing leaking taps, painting, clearing blocked drains / toilets, Checking Air Conditioning etc
• Any other duties as assigned by Maintenance manager or Chief Engineer.
• Maintain exceptional customer service when dealing with our guests.
• Comply with all Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
• Maintain excellent personal presentation standards at all times.
• Be willing and able to work on a 7-day rotating roster with shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Skills and Experience

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a maintenance role
• Previous Hospitality experience is an advantage
• Mechanical / Electrical Trade qualifications will be a distinct advantage
• Have efficient and effective time management skills
• Be able to learn new information quickly with an eye for detail
• Be extremely team orientated
