Job summary

Vulcan Steel is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to own day-to-day warehouse operations in our Australia-based facilities. You will lead processes, performance, and people to maintain efficient workflows.

You will oversee receiving, storage, dispatch, inventory control, and safety compliance while guiding a nine-person team. A hands-on leader with a proactive, accountable attitude is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in warehouse or logistics operations.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Organised, self-starter with a hands-on approach.
• Valid forklift licence.
• Experience in the metal industry preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage warehouse operations including receiving, storage, dispatch, and inventory control.
• Oversee logistics and forklift operations to ensure efficient workflows.
• Implement and improve operational processes and procedures.
• Lead, train, and support nine warehouse team members.
• Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance standards.
• Operate with an owner-operator mentality. Must be proactive and accountable.
• Contribute to a positive, team-driven workplace culture.
• Use basic computer systems for tracking and coordination.
