Job summary

Vulcan in Australia is seeking an Operations Manager to take ownership of day-to-day warehouse operations. This hands-on role focuses on process, performance, and people, driving efficiency across receiving, storage, dispatch, and inventory control.

You will lead nine warehouse team members, foster a strong safety culture, and implement practical operational improvements. A forklift licence and strong computer proficiency are essential; experience in the metal industry is an advantage.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in warehouse or logistics operations.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Organised, self-starter with a hands-on approach.
• Valid forklift licence.
• Computer literate; Excel proficiency a bonus.
• Experience in the metal industry preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage warehouse operations including receiving, storage, dispatch, and inventory control.
• Oversee logistics and forklift operations to ensure efficient workflows.
• Implement and improve operational processes and procedures.
• Lead, train, and support nine warehouse team members.
• Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance standards.
• Operate with an owner-operator mentality. Must be proactive and accountable.
• Contribute to a positive, team-driven workplace culture.
• Use basic computer systems for tracking and coordination.
