Job summary

Codan Limited is seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer to design, develop and support electronic test hardware and systems used across our global manufacturing operations, including on the Mawson Lakes site in Australia and our Malaysia site.

You will work hands-on on test equipment, fixture design and test automation, translating engineering requirements into robust, scalable test solutions while collaborating with design, manufacturing and quality teams to ensure product quality and process

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Mechatronics or related engineering.
• Experience designing electronics hardware for manufacturing test environments.
• Experience with test instrumentation and automated test development (LabVIEW desirable).
• Experience with bed-of-nails fixtures, functional testers, PCB-level testing and RF testing/troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain electronic test hardware, PCB assemblies, jigs and fixtures used within manufacturing test equipment.
• Develop automated and manual test solutions for PCBAs, embedded systems and final product assemblies.
• Prepare test requirements, test plans and manufacturing test strategies for NPI to full-scale production.
• Design schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer.
• Develop, implement and maintain LabVIEW and Python-based test applications.
• Install, commission, validate and optimise manufacturing test systems, instrumentation, jigs and fixtures.
• Analyse manufacturing and test data to verify product quality, performance and process capability.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing teams and collaborate with design engineers to resolve product/test issues.
• Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance test capability, manufacturing efficiency and throughput.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation including SOPs and test docs.
• Train technicians and manufacturing personnel in operation and maintenance of test systems.
