Job summary

South East Queensland Hauliers in Toowoomba is seeking an experienced Trade Assistant to join our workshop team at the Wellcamp site.

You will support mechanics with servicing, repairs and general maintenance of our heavy vehicle fleet, using hand tools and workshop equipment. This role suits someone with hands-on experience, a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn, with early starts and on-site work.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with heavy machinery, equipment or vehicles.
• Comfort around heavy machinery and ability to work safely.
• Experience using hand tools and workshop equipment.
• Physically fit for hands-on work and lifting.
• Reliable, hardworking and eager to learn.
• Current driver’s licence.
• LF forklift licence is advantageous but not essential.
• Pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal history check.

Responsibilities

• Assisting mechanics with servicing, repairs and general maintenance.
• Supporting mechanics working on heavy vehicles and machinery.
• Using hand tools and workshop equipment.
• Assisting with tyre fitting and tyre maintenance.
• Moving and handling tools, parts and equipment.
• General workshop and housekeeping duties.
• Keeping the workshop clean, organised and safe.
• Following all safety procedures and company requirements.
• Providing practical support to our mechanics as required.
