Job summary

Altitude Recruitment is seeking an experienced Telecommunications Engineer (Level 3) to support GPON/XGS-PON networks, OLT provisioning and ONT configurations for a leading Australian fibre provider. This hands-on role is based onsite in Port Melbourne and requires the ability to trace faults end-to-end across the fibre, switching, routing and carrier layers.

You will design, deploy and troubleshoot FTTP/FTTB networks, manage active Ethernet, VLANs and IP services, and maintain comprehensive

Qualifications

ICT30419 Certificate III in Telecommunications Network Build and Operation, or equivalent.
Extensive Level 3 telecommunications/network engineering experience.
Hands-on GPON/XGS-PON, OLT provisioning and ONT/ONU configuration.
Strong IP networking knowledge: VLANs, DHCP, DNS, NAT, routing.
Valid Australian driver’s licence and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

Provide advanced Level 3 technical support and resolve escalated issues.
Configure and troubleshoot OLT provisioning and ONT authentication.
Design, review and troubleshoot fibre optic networks including OTDR testing.
Configure Layer 2/3 networking including VLANs, DHCP, DNS, NAT and routing.
Collaborate with project managers, developers and contractors across design, construction and commissioning stages.
Maintain accurate network documentation and fault reports.
