Job summary

Piccolo Cucina in Cairns is seeking an experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to help lead our team and deliver warm, attentive dining experiences. You’ll work closely with the Restaurant Manager to oversee day-to-day operations and ensure exceptional service across all areas of the dining room and events.

The role focuses on leading service, coaching staff, engaging guests, and coordinating private dining and events.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality leadership or management.
• Hands-on leader on the restaurant floor.
• Excellent communication and people leadership.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• Current RSA certification (Queensland).

Responsibilities

• Lead service coordination across floor, bar, and kitchen.
• Develop and coach the team with pre-service briefings.
• Build guest relationships and manage feedback.
• Support rostering, stock control, and cash handling.
• Coordinate private dining and events.
• Maintain presentation, cleanliness, and service standards.
