Australian Country Choice is seeking a Halal Slaughterman to join our Cannon Hill processing team in Brisbane. This hands-on role performs halal slaughter in line with approved requirements, while upholding animal welfare, safety, and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Practising Muslim eligible to perform halal slaughter under the relevant certification requirements.
• Previous slaughtering, meat-processing or knife-hand experience is highly regarded.
• Strong understanding of animal welfare and halal principles.
• Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced processing environment.
• Reliable, safety-focused and able to work effectively in a team.
• Available for rostered shifts and able to meet all site-entry requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform halal slaughter in line with approved halal certification requirements.
• Follow animal welfare, hygiene, food safety and quality procedures.
• Use knives and processing equipment safely and effectively.
• Complete required checks and report any non-conformance promptly.
• Maintain a clean, safe and respectful work area.
• Work collaboratively to meet production and quality targets.
