Job summary

Hail Creek Open Cut is running an internal contractor conversion program to permanent employment for Mining Operators.

If you are a current contractor, you’ll be considered for permanent roles, with a strong focus on safety, teamwork and operational excellence.

The package includes a salary of 147K–170K plus Super, a 7/7 day and night roster from Mackay/Airlie Beach, a short-term bonus, extended leave entitlements and long service benefits, plus opportunities for leadership and development.

Qualifications

• Be a current contractor working as a Mining Operator at Hail Creek Open Cut.
• Hold a minimum of one current competency on production equipment within an open cut mining operation.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace safety.
• Work effectively as part of a team.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude, accountability and willingness to learn and develop.
• Consistently demonstrate behaviours aligned with Hail Creek Open Cut’s expectations and values.

This opportunity is open exclusively to current Hail Creek Open Cut contractor Mining Operators seeking conversion to permanent employment.

As part of Hail Creek Open Cut’s 2027 Operator Contractor Conversion Campaign, we are inviting applications from current contractor Mining Operators who would like to be considered for permanent employment with Hail Creek Open Cut.

We are looking for skilled and motivated Mining Operators who demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, teamwork and operational excellence.

As an experienced Mining Operator already working within Hail Creek Open Cut, you understand the importance of safe and productive mining practices. You will demonstrate self-leadership, accountability, a positive attitude and a proactive approach to your work.

ABOUT YOU
