Job summary

Glencore is seeking a dedicated Supply Superintendent to lead warehouse personnel and deliver operational goals on our Hail Creek operation. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will manage budgeting, ensure timely availability of goods, and drive process improvements within a safety‑focused mining environment.

The successful candidate will bring five years of mining warehousing/procurement experience, SAP procurement expertise, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• A commitment to maintaining a high level of safety performance and positive workplace culture.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office applications.
• A minimum of five years' experience in warehousing/procurement and inventory management within the mining industry.
• A developed understanding of the end-to-end SAP procurement process.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications (desired).

Responsibilities

• Training and mentoring of the warehouse personnel to execute daily operations safely.
• Set and maintain clear accountability that supports a high performing team environment.
• Ensure timely availability of goods and services to support production and maintenance operations.
• Prepare and manage annual operating and capital budget for the Supply operations.
• Maintain accurate record keeping of documentation for transactions, supply usage, contracts, and audits.
• Ensure Supply chain activities comply with internal policies, safety standards and relevant legislations.
• Identify and implement process improvements as necessary.
• Liaising with key internal and external stakeholders to foster strong relationships.

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has become available for a dedicated Supply Superintendent to join our dynamic and successful Commercial team. Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager, you will provide leadership to warehouse personnel to deliver operational goals, this multifaceted role includes a comprehensive range of responsibilities, including:

• Training and mentoring of the warehouse personnel to execute daily operations safely.
• Set and maintain clear accountability that supports a high performing team environment.
• Ensure timely availability of goods and services to support production and maintenance operations.
• Prepare and manage annual operating and capital budget for the Supply operations.
• Maintain accurate record keeping of documentation for transactions, supply usage, contracts, and facilitate audits to help manager stock and consumables.
• Ensure Supply chain activities comply with internal policies, safety standards and relevant legislations.
• Identify and implement process improvements as necessary.
• Liaising with key internal and external stakeholders to foster strong relationships.

This role is a wonderful opportunity for you no matter your circumstance. You will have the option to either live locally in one of the communities that surround our operation or stay on site in our amazing village. We are only a one and quarter hour drive from the beautiful Mackay hinterland and a two- and half-hour drive from Airlie Beach and the Whitsunday Islands and have a diverse group of people at our operation commuting from multiple locations in Queensland such as Rockhampton and Townsville, to name a few. Commercial Flight Support is available per written request for senior staff members and above, for flights from Mackay (MKY) to Brisbane (BNE) return.
