Job summary

St Vincent's Private Hospital Brisbane in Melbourne, VIC is seeking a Haematology Specimen Shipment Laboratory Assistant to support management, documentation and shipment of haematology specimens for clinical research.

You will coordinate preparation and shipment to local and international sponsors, ensure safe handling, accurate tracking in databases, and liaise with trial coordinators and lab staff to uphold study requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or relevant hospital/clinical experience.
• IATA Dangerous Goods and GCP training completed.
• Ability to follow written procedures, SOPs and study instructions.
• Strong organizational, data entry and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate shipment per trial manuals and study instructions.
• Prepare shipping docs: airway bills, customs docs, manifests.
• Maintain accurate tracking/identification records for specimens.
• Coordinate daily courier bookings for shipments.
• Ensure specimens are packed and dispatched safely to destinations.
• Enter data in trial databases and disease registries accurately.
• Escalate shipment deviations per procedures.
• Assist in developing shipment procedures, checklists and templates.
• Complete mandatory hospital and study training.
