Job summary

The Y Whittlesea is seeking a Director to lead our gymnastics program, managing people, timetables, and budgets while staying hands-on with beginners on the floor.

You will recruit and mentor coaches, grow the program, ensure safety, and contribute to building a pathway from first cartwheel to competition. This is a full-time role based in Epping, Victoria with a flexible schedule across 7 days.

Qualifications

• Recognised gymnastics coaching accreditation.
• Hands-on coaching experience with a solid grasp of technique and safety.
• Passion for leading and developing people, including young coaches.
• Experience with budgeting or revenue management is desirable but not required.
• Current Working with Children Check and Police checks in place.

Responsibilities

• Run the floor and manage day-to-day program operations.
• Build and mentor a team of coaches, including beginners.
• Grow the program with planning and budgeting strategies.
• Coach when needed and model best practice for sessions.
• Champion safeguarding and ensure children’s safety.
• Shape next steps and help build a pathway from cartwheel to competition.
