Job summary

Aligned Leisure seeks a Gymnastics Captain to lead the gymnastics program, schedule classes, and guide the gymnastics team to deliver high‑quality experiences. You will oversee safety, adhere to industry standards, and work with the Head of Programs & Community on marketing and occupancy goals.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and implementation of a comprehensive gymnastics program curriculum, catering to participants of all ages and skill levels.
• Oversee the planning and scheduling of gymnastics classes, workshops, and events to optimize program occupancy.
• Ensure program content aligns with industry standards, safety guidelines, and participant needs.
• Leadership of the Gymnastics Team: Provide leadership and guidance to the gymnastics team, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and excellence.
• Conduct regular staff training sessions to enhance coaching skills, safety awareness, and customer service standards.
• Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively, promoting accountability and teamwork within the gymnastics team.
• Monitor participant satisfaction levels through regular feedback mechanisms, such as surveys, reviews, and direct communication.
• Address participant concerns and inquiries in a timely and professional manner, striving to exceed customer expectations.
• Implement initiatives to enhance the overall participant experience and foster a positive community atmosphere within the gymnastics program.
• Analyse program occupancy data and trends to identify opportunities for increasing participation and revenue.
• Work with the Head of Programs & Community to develop and implement marketing and promotional strategies to attract new participants and retain existing ones.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as Duty Captains, Customer Experience and Heads of Departments, to align gymnastics program activities with organisational objectives.
• Foster effective communication and collaboration within the gymnastics team and across the organization.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings and initiatives to contribute to the overall success
• Health and Safety of all staff and customers
• Comply with all applicable policies and procedures.
• Oversee the evacuation of Gymnastic areas as directed by the Duty Captain and in accordance with training.
• Act as Area Warden for Gymnastic areas.
• Implement and document hazard and environment inspections, risk assessments, risk controls and corrective actions.
• Risk assess work instructions to identify any hazards and take action to rectify any identified risks.
• Outstanding service delivery to all customers and stakeholders

The Gymnastics Captain will also undertake regular floor supervisor shifts and must be available to work a mixture of early morning, daytime, evening and weekend hours. The Gymnastics Captain may from time to time be required to undertake other tasks as directed by the Head of Programs & Community.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Experience in Gymnastics leadership
• Suitably qualified as an Advanced Coach
• Hold the relevant Gymnastics Victoria/Australia registrations
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate
• Working with Children Check
