Job summary

Aligned Leisure in Victoria is seeking a Gymnastics Coach to deliver safe, engaging classes for gymnasts of all ages, following the approved curriculum and safety standards.

You will work evenings and weekends, uphold our values, participate in trainings, and collaborate with Casey Gymnastics to provide a consistent program. Essential qualifications include Advanced Coaches Qualification, Gym Victoria/Australia registrations, First Aid/CPR, and WWCC.

Qualifications

• Advanced coaching qualification required.
• Experience coaching high level Gymstar or ALP classes.
• Registration with Gymnastics Victoria/Australia required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, engaging, progressive gymnastics classes for all ages and abilities.
• Provide clear instruction, feedback and encouragement to foster skill progression.
• Ensure sessions follow Gymnastics Victoria standards and safety guidelines.
• Build positive relationships with gymnasts and families to create an inclusive environment.
• Assist with class setup and pack-down and support special events or competitions.
• Collaborate with Casey Gymnastics and team members for a consistent program.
• Participate in trainings, meetings and ongoing professional development.

Position Purpose:

The Gymnastics Coach will provide high-quality instruction and guidance to gymnasts of varying ages and skill levels, supporting them in achieving their personal gymnastics goals. This role involves delivering safe, engaging, and following class sessions that promote skill development, confidence, and a love for the sport. The Gymnastics Coach will contribute to creating a positive and motivating environment, ensuring each gymnast feels supported and encouraged in their journey.

This position will work relentlessly to implement the Aligned Leisure purpose of connecting to thrive and win, values of AWARE, DISCIPLINED, RELENTLESS and UNITED, and associated behaviours throughout the entire team.

As a customer-facing role, the Gymnastics Coach will be required to work during key program times, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of participants and ensure program success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Program Delivery and Coaching:
• Deliver safe, engaging, and progressive gymnastics classes for participants of all ages and abilities in line with the approved curriculum and class lessons .
• Support the development of gymnasts by providing clear instruction, constructive feedback, and encouragement to foster skill progression and confidence.
• Ensure all sessions follow Gymnastic Victoria standards and adhere to relevant safety and child protection guidelines
  
• Participant engagement and support:
• Build positive relationships with gymnasts and their families to create a welcoming and inclusive environment.
• Respond to participant and parents questions and concerns with professionalism and care.
• Foster a culture of enjoyment, effort, and achievement among all participants.
• Program Support and Team Contribution:
• Assist with class set-up and pack-down when required, ensuring equipment is safe, clean, and appropriately stored.
• Support the implementation of special events, holiday programs, or competitions as required.
• Collaborate with fellow coaches of Casey Gymnastics and team members to ensure consistency in coaching and a unified program experience.
• Participate in regular trainings, team meetings, and ongoing professional development to enhance coaching ability and program quality.
• Uphold Aligned Leisure’s values of AWARE, DISCIPLINED, RELENTLESS, and UNITED in all aspects of work.
• Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and professionalism as a key representative of the gymnastics program.
• Health and Safety of all staff and customers
• Comply with all applicable policies and procedures.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emergency procedures
• Always implement safe coaching practices and uphold duty of care responsibilities.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

• Advanced Coaches Qualification
• Experience in Coaching high level Gymstar or ALP Classes
• Hold the relevant Gymnastics Victoria/Australia registrations
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate
• Working with Children Check (if over the age of 18)
