Job summary

Derrimut 24:7 Gyms in Adelaide is seeking a Gym Assistant Manager to support the Gym Manager in day-to-day operations across the gym, Retail and Nutrition Bar, and to cover the site in the Manager’s absence.

This hands-on leadership role requires you to lead shifts, develop staff, drive memberships and retail sales, and maintain high standards of service, cleanliness and presentation in a 24/7 environment.

Qualifications

• Proven management experience, preferably in the fitness industry.
• Availability to work a 24/7 environment, including weekends and public holidays.
• Strong leadership, communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee 24/7 gym operations and act as site lead in the Manager's absence.
• Complete opening, closing and shift-handover procedures.
• Identify and resolve operational issues promptly and escalate when required.
• Supervise and support Customer Service Representatives and Cleaners.
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding, rostering and staff development.
• Provide coaching and feedback and support performance reviews.
• Deliver on-the-job training to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
• Resolve member issues swiftly and respond to emails, social media, and reviews.
• Drive membership and retail sales to meet targets.
• Ensure cleanliness, presentation and safety across the gym, Retail and Nutrition Bar.
• Coordinate with gym staff to address incidents and maintenance issues.
• Complete administrative tasks, including reporting and attendance tracking.
