Job summary

Belingbak Hotels & Resorts seeks an experienced Assistant General Manager to join the opening team of South West House in Dunsborough, WA. You will work closely with the General Manager to bring the new 54-room hotel to life and ensure seamless operation from day one.

As the operational 2IC, you’ll oversee day-to-day hotel operations, lead Guest Services and Front Office, and support department leaders while driving service standards and guest experiences across the property.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience within hotels or hospitality.
• Experience across Front Office, reservations or guest services.
• Strong Front Office and rooms operations with Housekeeping understanding.
• Hands-on leadership style - visible, engaged and hands-on.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of hotel performance.
• Great guest instincts and genuine hospitality passion.
• Ability to lead a multi-functional team and make decisions.
• Comfort with pace and ambiguity of opening a new hotel.

Responsibilities

Assistant General Manager | South West House

South West House is a new 54-room hotel opening in Dunsborough, at the gateway to the Margaret River Region.

We're looking for an experienced and hands-on Assistant General Manager to join the opening team and work closely with the General Manager to bring the hotel to life.

As operational 2IC, you'll have oversight of the day-to-day hotel operation, with direct leadership of Guest Services and Front Office. You'll be visible across the property, supporting department leaders, driving standards and ensuring the guest experience comes together seamlessly from arrival to departure.

This is a role for someone who loves being on the floor and in the detail - equally comfortable leading a team, solving an operational problem, welcoming a guest or stepping up to lead the hotel in the GM's absence.

We're looking for someone who brings:

• At least 5 years' experience within hotels or hospitality, with demonstrated leadership experience
• Proven experience across hotel Front Office, reservations or guest services
• Strong Front Office and rooms operations experience, with a solid understanding of Housekeeping
• A hands-on leadership style - visible, engaged and comfortable getting amongst it
• Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of what makes a hotel perform
• Great guest instincts and a genuine love of hospitality
• The confidence to make decisions, solve problems and lead across a multi-functional team
• An ability to embrace the pace, energy and occasional ambiguity that comes with opening a new hotel
