Job summary

Hearken Recruitment is seeking an experienced accountant to join a respected Melbourne firm with a strong track record in staff development. You will support a client list, deliver compliance and advisory work, and act as day-to-day client contact.

You will prepare financial statements, tax returns, BAS, and related compliance for a variety of entity types, while mentoring junior accountants and ensuring accuracy and standards. Australian permanent residency or citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Australian public practice.
• CA or CPA qualification or near completion.
• Experience preparing financial statements, tax returns, BAS for various entities.
• Strong client communication, phone, email and in-person.
• Team oriented with a focus on supporting others.

Responsibilities

• Support a client list and deliver compliance and advisory work.
• Be the day-to-day client contact.
• Prepare documentation and attend client meetings with the team.
• Identify advisory opportunities and referrals.
• Prepare financial statements, tax returns, BAS for various entities.
• Mentor junior accountants and review their work for quality.
• Review compliance work for accuracy and adherence to standards.
