Job summary

Recruitment Expert is partnering with a mid-sized accounting and advisory firm in St Kilda to recruit a Senior Accountant with about 5 years in public practice. The role blends 75% compliance with 25% advisory, working with corporate clients and growing into an advisory capacity over time.

The successful candidate will review compliance for companies, trusts and individuals, support outsourced staff, and engage with clients by phone and email.

Qualifications

• Around 5 years of experience in a public practice accounting firm.
• Strong compliance background with companies and trusts.
• Desire to engage more with clients and move into advisory work.
• Confidence in reviewing others’ work and helping manage workflow.
• Familiarity with Xero, XPM, and FYI Docs (beneficial).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review compliance work for companies, trusts and individuals.
• Support outsourced accounting staff and review their work.
• Liaise with clients via phone and email; client contact but not business development.
• Assist with tax planning, structuring and advisory work with senior team members.
• Manage client relationships and respond to inquiries.
