Group Financial Reporting Manager
A career at Breville is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. It's more than working for a global leader; it's an opportunity to be a part of something that impacts people all over the world.
About the role

This is a broad Group Finance leadership role offering exposure well beyond traditional financial reporting. Reporting to the General Manager, Global Finance and leading a small team, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate consolidation and reporting of Breville Group's financial results to senior management, the Board, Audit & Risk Committee and external stakeholders, including the ASX. The role provides broad exposure across our global business, with responsibilities spanning Group and external reporting, technical accounting, audit, corporate governance, Group insurance, sustainability reporting and finance transformation. AI, automation and continuous improvement are an important part of how we operate within Group Finance. We are looking for someone who is already applying AI practically in their work and can demonstrate how they have used it to improve the speed, efficiency and quality of financial reporting and analysis. You will play an important role in identifying, designing and implementing further AI-enabled reporting and automation opportunities across Group Finance. The role would particularly suit a high-performing Manager or Senior Manager currently within a Big 4 or leading mid-tier accounting firm who is looking to move into commerce, or someone who has recently made that transition and is looking for broader exposure within an ASX-listed global business.

  • Lead the consolidation and reporting of Group financial results, including reporting to senior management, the Board and Audit & Risk Committee.
  • Lead the Group's Half Year and Full Year ASX reporting requirements, including Appendix 4D, Appendix 4E and coordination of the Annual Report.
  • Coordinate preparation of Board and Audit & Risk Committee reporting, managing key stakeholders and reporting timelines.
  • Lead technical accounting matters across the Group, including preparation of technical accounting papers and maintenance of Group accounting policies.
  • Manage the annual external audit and half year review, working closely with external auditors and stakeholders across the Group.
  • Lead, coach and develop the Group Financial Reporting team, creating an environment of collaboration, ownership and continuous improvement.
  • Identify, design and implement AI-enabled reporting, automation and process improvement solutions across Group Finance, including the continued automation of Board reporting.
  • Regularly review finance processes, systems and data transformation opportunities to improve efficiency, reporting quality and data integrity.
  • Manage the Group insurance portfolio, including annual renewals, claims and day-to-day insurance matters.
  • Coordinate the Group Risk Matrix and annual self-compliance process for reporting to the Audit & Risk Committee.
  • Support the Group's sustainability reporting requirements, including climate-related financial disclosures and associated assurance.
  • Lead and review local statutory reporting requirements across relevant Group entities.
  • Support FP&A initiatives, budgeting, analysis and broader Group Finance projects as required.
You will ideally have:
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
  • CA/ACA or CPA qualification.
  • Strong professional accounting firm experience is highly regarded, ideally currently at Manager or Senior Manager level within a Big 4 or leading mid-tier firm, or having recently transitioned into a financial reporting / Group Finance role in commerce.
  • Experience working with ASX-listed or other large, complex clients or organisations would be advantageous.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly IFRS and statutory reporting requirements, with ASX reporting experience highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated practical experience applying AI tools to improve the efficiency, speed and quality of finance processes, reporting and analysis, including automation of repeatable activities.
  • A genuine interest in continuing to explore and apply AI, automation and emerging technologies within Finance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail and a high standard of data integrity.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial reporting, consolidation and/or business intelligence systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to work with senior management and Board-level stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships across a global organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership, show initiative and manage multiple concurrent deliverables and deadlines across different time zones.
  • A collaborative, hands-on leadership style and the ability to lead and develop a small team.
Why this role?

This is an opportunity to move beyond a traditional financial reporting role and gain broad exposure across a global ASX-listed business. You will work closely with senior finance leadership and have exposure to the Board and Audit & Risk Committee, while playing an important role in how we continue to improve and transform Finance through AI, automation and better ways of working. You will also have the opportunity to lead and develop a small team and build experience across a breadth of areas beyond financial reporting, including technical accounting, corporate governance, insurance, sustainability and FP&A.
