Job summary

Challenger Limited in Sydney is seeking a Financial Accountant – Group Financial Control to join the high-performing team. The role focuses on month-end close, reconciliations, reporting and audit across Challenger corporate entities and SPVs.

You will collaborate with Senior Accountants and the Finance Manager to connect entity-level accounting with group outcomes. Hybrid role (3 days in office / 2 days WFH) offering clear progression, robust financial control and exposure to ASX reporting

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with post-qualification experience in financial control or large-scale accounting.
• Exposure to multi-entity environments and intercompany accounting.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and core accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Support accounting for Challenger corporate entities and SPVs, including journals and reconciliations.
• Assist intercompany processing and investigate reconciling items.
• Contribute to month-end close and consolidated Group reporting.
• Prepare audit workpapers and respond to auditor queries with guidance from seniors.
• Work with Workday, Workiva and Excel for reporting and controls.
