Job summary

Glen Eira City Council invites a Group Exercise Assistant Team Leader to oversee day-to-day delivery of high-quality group exercise programs across facilities in Melbourne. You will support staffing, instructor development and program growth while maintaining safety and excellent member experiences.

Working closely with instructors and stakeholders, you will lead with guidance, contribute to service excellence, and drive continuous improvement in program outcomes and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering group exercise programs and services.
• Experience supervising or mentoring instructors in leisure/fitness settings.
• Knowledge of group exercise programming, timetabling and class operations.
• Strong customer service, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to monitor program performance and implement improvements.
• Well-developed organisational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and support to Group Exercise Instructors.
• Assist with staffing, timetabling and relief instruction to ensure class coverage.
• Support onboarding, training and ongoing instructor development.
• Guide group exercise program delivery and customer outcomes.
• Monitor service quality and feedback for continuous improvement.
• Coordinate new programs, launches and community initiatives.
• Assist with customer feedback and complaint resolution.
• Administer timesheets, reporting and staff communications.
• Ensure safety, policies and cleanliness across programs.
• Deliver group exercise classes as required.
