Job summary

Glen Eira Leisure is seeking a Group Exercise Assistant Team Leader to support the Group Exercise Team Leader in delivering high-quality, safe group exercise programs across Glen Eira Leisure. You will assist with staffing, timetabling, instructor support and ongoing program development to ensure members enjoy exceptional fitness experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering group exercise programs.
• Experience supervising or mentoring instructors in leisure/fitness.
• Knowledge of group exercise programming, timetabling and class operations.
• Experience coordinating class coverage and staff rosters.
• Strong customer service, communication and stakeholder management.
• Ability to monitor program performance and implement improvements.
• Well-developed organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to manage resources and support program delivery.
• Sound understanding of WHS, risk management and child safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance and support to Group Exercise Instructors.
• Staffing and Timetabling: Assist with staffing, timetabling and relief instruction.
• Instructor Development: Support onboarding, training and development.
• Program Delivery: Guide group exercise program delivery and customer outcomes.
• Performance Monitoring: Monitor service quality and participation for improvements.
• Program Growth: Coordinate new programs, Les Mills releases, promotions and events.
• Customer Service: Address customer feedback and maintain a welcoming environment.
• Administration: Assist with timesheets, reporting and staff communications.
• Safety and Compliance: Ensure policies, safety requirements and cleanliness are followed.
• Direct Service Delivery: Deliver group exercise classes when required.
