Job summary

Super Retail Group is seeking a seasoned Group Accounting Manager to lead the Australia and New Zealand finance function. You will head a high-performance Group Accounting team, ensuring accurate consolidated reporting, GL integrity, and robust controls, while partnering with regional and global stakeholders to drive compliant, high-quality financial insights.

You will own the month-end close, oversee statutory reporting, audits, and tax support, and lead continuous improvement across processes

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualified with a relevant tertiary degree.
• Experience leading large, geographically dispersed finance teams in complex organisations.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, policy governance and regulatory requirements.
• Retail or high-volume environment experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Group Accounting team and set clear direction for accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting.
• Own the month-end close and reporting process, delivering insights and a single source of truth for executives.
• Maintain a strong control environment ensuring statutory, regulatory and internal policy compliance.
• Oversee balance sheet integrity, reconciliations and financial governance for audit readiness.
• Drive continuous improvement via process automation, standardisation and system interfaces.
• Partner with finance and business stakeholders to analyse actuals, budgets and forecasts, identify risks and opportunities.
• Lead statutory reporting, audit and tax support with internal/external stakeholders.
• Act as accounting SME on projects and business change initiatives, embedding proper accounting treatment.
