Job summary

Wickhams Group in Queensland is seeking a Group Accountant to drive month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, fixed assets and project/hire-purchase accounting across our transport and agricultural operations. The role is based in Warwick and Killarney, QLD, offering a genuine pathway to a Financial Controller position.

Reporting to the GM Finance, you will lead statutory and tax work papers, oversee intercompany accounting, budgets and cashflow, and mentor Finance staff while driving ERP

Qualifications

• CPA/CA/IPA qualification completed or substantially completed
• Experience in financial accounting, month-end reporting, and reconciliations
• Strong multi-entity accounting, month-end, reconciliation and statutory reporting experience
• Strong Excel and ERP capability; Pronto experience highly advantageous
• Experience in transport, logistics, manufacturing or asset-intensive environments advantageous
• Demonstrated leadership potential and ability to manage deadlines and complex financial information

Responsibilities

• Coordinating Group month-end close and financial control activities
• Managing balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals, and intercompany accounts
• Overseeing fixed assets, capital projects, inventory/WIP, and hire-purchase accounting
• Preparing and reviewing BAS, Fuel Tax Credits, payroll tax, Work Cover, and year-end workpapers
• Assisting with budgets, forecasts, cash flow reporting, and Board reporting
• Developing and supporting Finance team members
• Driving process improvements and ERP system efficiencies
• Genuine career progression pathway to Financial Controller

The Role:

About you:
