Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist senior team members in tree maintenance work for trees, shrubs and palms at client sites.
• Undertake ground-based chainsaw work under supervision.
• Load chipper machines with cut foliage and operate them.
• Assist in maintaining tree work vehicles and machinery.
• Use and maintain gardening tools and equipment.
• Follow safe work practices and report hazards.
• Attend on-site safety audits and help prepare safety documents.
• Set up work sites with signs, danger tape and arrange vehicles safely.
• Report damage and machine faults to line manager.
• Adhere to workplace policies and assist in training junior groundworkers.

On offer is ongoing work. Ideally you will live in Karratha, tho for the right candidate relocation and accommodation assistance is available. You will have experience in gardening work with demonstrated competence in plant and tree maintenance and development, tree and shrub identification and the use and care of arboriculture vehicles & specialised equipment **About the Role**: Work in accordance with the standard operating procedures and established criteria to: * assist senior team members in tree maintenance work for trees, shrubs and palms at client sites;* undertake ground-based chainsaw work under direct supervision and in accordance with the level of training provided by the company;* load chipper machines with cut foliage and operate chipper machines;* assist in maintaining tree work vehicles and machines; and* use, and perform routine maintenance on gardening tools and equipment.* Follow safe work practices and report all workplace hazards to maintain a safe work site.* Undertake on-site safety audits and assist in preparing safety documentation.* Attend to the set-up of work sites, including placement of signs, danger tape and arranging vehicles in a safe manner.* Report damage and machine faults to line manager.* Adhere to all workplace policies and procedures as directed by the company.* Assist in providing on-site training for junior groundworker/s when required.* Other duties as directed by the company.**About you:** * Ability to work under routine supervision either individually or in a team environment.* Ability to take responsibility for the quality of own work while under routine supervision.* Understand and undertake basic quality control/assurance procedures including the ability to recognise basic quality deviations/faults.* Understand and utilise basic statistical process control procedures.* Ability to exercise initiative, discretion and judgement in carrying out the duties of the role within the level of skills and training.* Interpersonal skills to be able to interact with team members* You will need to have a current Drivers Licence, C class at a minimum* Loader ticket will be highly regarded* The ability to pass a pre employment medical and random drug testing* Construction White Card* Physically fit and able
