Job summary

Metropolitan Memorial Parks in Sydney is seeking a Grounds Team Leader to manage our grounds maintenance team at the Rookwood General Cemetery site and the Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park site. Qualifications

• Experience leading small teams, preferably in grounds maintenance.
• Current Driver's License and White Card (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Positive attitude and problem-solving approach.
• High level of integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise grounds maintenance team (approx 4-6 employees)
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders, including internal teams, contractors, and the community
• Ensure Work Health and Safety (WHS) compliance and high standards of workmanship
• Provide training and support to team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively
• Manage budgets and resources to achieve efficient outcomes
• Promote a culture of sustainability and positivity in the workplace
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and safety across the cemetery grounds
• Operate a range of tools and equipment as required
• Assist with burials and cremations teams as needed
• Perform administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of the team
