Job summary

Express Employment Professionals – Rookwood NSW is seeking an experienced Groundskeeper/ Landscaping Horticulture professional to join a dedicated team responsible for the grounds of a cemetery environment. You will perform mowing, planting, turfing and after-care to a high standard.

Key duties include chemical spraying with proper training, plant and pest identification, and safe operation of equipment. The role is temp-to-perm and located near Lidcombe area, NSW.

Qualifications

• Experience operating and maintaining grounds-related equipment and tools.
• Ability to spray chemicals safely with proper training or willingness to obtain qualification.
• Capable of working autonomously and in a team.
• Hold a NSW Driver Licence and own car.

Responsibilities

• Regular mowing, gardening, watering and general grounds maintenance.
• Fertilising gardens and lawns and applying fertiliser correctly.
• Trimming and pruning hedges, plants and trees.
• Installing turf and completing after-care.
• Identify plants, pests, diseases and perform weed-spraying as required.
• Conduct chemical spraying with training and safety procedures.
• Operate and maintain a range of equipment and hand tools.
• Keep gardens, lawns and graves clean and well-presented.

About the Role

You will be responsible for maintaining designated grounds and landscaped areas to a high standard, including:

• Regular mowing, gardening, watering and general grounds maintenance
• Fertilising gardens and lawns and applying fertiliser correctly
• Trimming and pruning hedges, plants and trees
• Installing turf and completing appropriate after-care
• Identifying plants, pests and diseases, undertaking routine weed-spraying applications
• Conducting chemical spraying in accordance with training, instructions and safety procedures
• Safely operating and maintaining a wide range of plant, equipment, machinery and hand tools
• Keeping gardens, lawns and surrounding graves clean, and well presented
• Located near Lidcombe area, Temp to Permanent position

About You

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the safe operation and maintenance of plant, equipment, machinery and tools
• Experience with chemical spraying, with relevant training or a willingness to work towards a formal chemical-handling qualification
• The ability to work effectively autonomously and as part of a team
• A current NSW Driver Licence and Own Car
• Working towards, or willingness to attain, a Certificate III in Horticulture or a related field such as Parks and Gardens, Turf Management or Landscaping
• Must be an Australian Citizen or Australian Citizen
• Must be able to Pass a Medical and Police Check
