Experienced electrical engineer needed to lead grid connection for renewable energy projects, both Greenfield and acquired.

About Our Client:

Our client is a global clean energy solutions provider at the forefront of renewable energy. It has a mix of acquired and developed projects across Australia. With a strong presence in the Australian market, it specializes in developing, constructing, and managing renewable energy projects in New South Wales, Victoria, and Queensland.

The Opportunity:

We're seeking a dynamic Grid Connections Manager to lead grid connection processes for cutting-edge renewable energy and energy storage projects. This role offers:

• Leadership in grid connection activities across project lifecycles
• Collaboration with industry stakeholders, including NSPs, AEMO, and OEMs
• Opportunity to work on complex, utility-scale projects - Solar, BESS & Wind
• Stand alone Grid Connections position in the organisation, reporting into the BESS Lead
• Hybrid Working - 3 days in the Northern Beaches office

Key Responsibilities:

• Spearhead grid connection processes from development to commissioning
• Manage stakeholder relationships and negotiate connection agreements
• Oversee power system studies and GPS compliance
• Provide technical expertise for project proposals and evaluations
• Develop and implement GPS Compliance Plans for operational projects
• Experience in Grid Connection and HV substation design.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering
• 2+ years of experience in grid connections processes
• Strong understanding of GPS compliance and power system modelling
• Knowledge of NER, AEMO processes, and NSP requirements
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Grid Code knowledge.
• Experience in GPS
• Engineering Softwares to be used: Autocad, PVsyst, PSSE, Dig-silent; Etap; QGIS
