Job summary

The Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) in Brisbane is seeking a dedicated print specialist to join the on-site studio in South Brisbane for a 12-month full-time temporary position. Reporting to the Senior Graphic Designer, you will design and produce a broad range of corporate and exhibition graphics.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Graphic Design.
• Minimum five years of relevant industry experience with editorial and publication design, branding and large-format graphics.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Strong knowledge of prepress and print production processes.
• A keen eye for colour, typography and layout.

Responsibilities

• Design and produce corporate and exhibition publications, from concept through to print-ready files.
• Create marketing collateral, educational materials and children's activity resources.
• Develop large-format graphics, wallpapers and illustrative assets for gallery exhibitions.
• Produce exhibition branding and retail merchandise.
• Apply sound prepress and print production knowledge throughout all projects.
• Work collaboratively within a small open-plan studio team under the supervision of the Senior Graphic Designer.

The Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) is a public art institution based in Brisbane, Queensland, operating two major gallery spaces dedicated to Australian and international art, with a strong focus on modern and contemporary works. It is part of the Queensland Government's arts portfolio.

The role

This is a 12-month full-time temporary position based on-site at the Gallery of Modern Art in South Brisbane. The role sits within a studio team of five and reports to the Senior Graphic Designer. It is a dedicated print specialist position, responsible for developing, designing and producing a broad range of corporate and exhibition-based graphic design projects across the organisation.

Working arrangements

The role is based on-site at the Gallery of Modern Art, South Brisbane (Brisbane Inner City). It is a full-time, fixed-term temporary position for a duration of 12 months.

Pay and benefits

The yearly salary range is AUD 107,697 to AUD 117,297, with a total remuneration package of AUD 123,057 up to AUD 134,027 (inclusive of superannuation and other entitlements).
