New entrants receive structured support, mentoring and induction programs to integrate curriculum, assessment and pedagogy. Applicants must have completed teaching requirements and be eligible for registration.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the capacity to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills.
• Demonstrated capacity to respond to student learning needs.
• Demonstrated capacity to implement high impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn.
• Demonstrated capacity to monitor and assess student learning and provide feedback.

Responsibilities

• Plan and teach student groups in one or more subjects.
• Teach across year levels as part of the curriculum delivery.
• Monitor, evaluate and report student progress in key learning areas.
• Implement strategies to achieve targets related to student learning outcomes.
• Maintain records of class attendance and student progress.
• Participate in professional learning and mentoring.
• Assist in policy development and co-curricular activities.
