Job summary

South Australian Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF) invites applications for Graduate Officers to join the ICT and cyber security pathways. You will contribute to public sector digital infrastructure, with mentoring, development and cross-agency exposure, as part of the Academy.

Roles commence February 2027 in metropolitan Adelaide, with a structured program, flexible arrangements and clear advancement pathways within SA Government.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or postgraduate Australian University qualification required.
• Certificate IV or Diploma accepted as an alternative.
• Eligibility criteria include location, visa, and background checks (see ad).
• Preferred disciplines include IT, information systems, cyber security, computer science, software engineering, data analytics and AI.

To be considered eligible to become a Graduate Officer, you must meet the following criteria:

• Availability: The roles commence in February 2027.
• Location: You will be working within metropolitan Adelaide, with many roles located in the Adelaide CBD.
• Qualifications:
• You must have completed an undergraduate or post graduate Australian University qualification, or you will have completed a qualification before your commencement date in a Graduate Officer role. A relevant Certificate IV or Diploma will also be accepted.
• Preferred disciplines include information technology, information systems, cyber security, computer science, software engineering, data analytics, artificial intelligence and related disciplines.
• History: You must not have received a Targeted Voluntary Separation Package from the SA public sector within the last 12 months.
• Background Check: You must be willing to undergo relevant criminal history check(s) and receive clearance to meet the required entry standards.
• Visa Holders: You must hold a VISA with acceptable work conditions from the commencement date of your employment.
• Employment Conditions: You must meet all other employment conditions, including the ability to travel independently to and from the workplace, training sites, and other sites as required, and some out-of-hours work may be required.

Year 1: ASO3: $74,095 per annum, plus 12% employer super contributions

Year 2: ASO4: $82,212 per annum, plus 12% employer super contributions

Graduate roles start at ASO3. International students will initially be offered a temporary contract with the option to transition to an ongoing role once they have secured permanent residency. All graduates have the opportunity to transition to the ASO4 level after 12 months upon successful completion of the program.
