Job summary

Health Workforce Queensland is offering a structured Graduate Occupational Therapist program in Emerald, Queensland. Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy or due to graduate prior to commencement.
• Eligibility for registration with AHPRA
• Interest in community-based allied health and working with people across the lifespan
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Current driver’s licence and willingness to undertake community-based visits
• New graduates are encouraged to apply and will be supported through a structured development program.

Responsibilities

• Provide Occupational Therapy services across a variety of community settings.
• Work with a diverse caseload across disability, health, education and community sectors.
• Deliver assessments, therapy interventions, reports and personalised support plans.
• Develop strong relationships with participants, families, carers, schools, healthcare professionals and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Speech Pathologists, Psychologists, Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners and other allied health professionals within a multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in a structured new graduate program designed to support the transition from university into clinical practice.
• Receive regular supervision, mentoring and professional development opportunities.
• Contribute to community engagement initiatives and partnerships that improve access to allied health services across Queensland communities.
• Build professional networks and learn from experienced clinicians committed to graduate development
