City of Adelaide is offering a two-year graduate environmental health officer program commencing February 2027, based in Adelaide. The role involves gaining practical experience across food safety, public health, and regulatory matters, with mentoring and exposure to diverse city initiatives.
As part of the program you will inspect, educate and assist with health programs while developing your professional practice and contributing to the community within the City of Adelaide.
As part of the Regulatory Services Program, the Graduate Environmental Health Officer will gain practical experience helping protect the health, safety and wellbeing of the community across the City of Adelaide, including the CBD and North Adelaide.
Working alongside experienced Environmental Health Officers, you’ll build your knowledge and confidence across food safety, public health and environmental health regulation. You’ll have the opportunity to get out into the community, participate in inspections and investigations, contribute to health education programs and see how your knowledge can be applied to real-world public health challenges.
With a combination of on-the-job learning, professional development and hands-on experience, this is an opportunity to build a strong foundation for your environmental health career while making a tangible contribution to the community.

Please be advised this is a two-year fixed term opportunity with a starting salary at the Level 3 Classification commencing at $88,617 + 12% superannuation.
