Job summary

SMEC is seeking a Graduate Environmental Scientist/Engineer to join our Sydney team. The role focuses on contaminated land projects with opportunities across renewables and environmental studies, including fieldwork and data reporting.

You will work within a large multidisciplinary environment, receiving mentoring and professional development to advance from graduates to leaders within the company.

Qualifications

• Tertiary degree in Environmental Science, engineering, geology or hydrogeology.
• Experience with contaminated land and Hazardous Materials is highly regarded.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills in a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to travel for field assessments and outdoor work.
• NSW driver’s license and capacity to work outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Fieldwork including collecting soil, water and ground gas samples across Sydney and regional NSW.
• Preparing contaminated land assessments including data management and reporting.
• Supporting a variety of multi-disciplinary projects and stakeholder engagement.
• Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
