Job summary

SMEC, a global environmental engineering firm with a Melbourne-based team, invites applications for a recent Graduate Environmental Scientist/Engineer. The role focuses on contaminated land, waste and resource recovery, and supports a broad range of sustainable design projects in Victoria.

You will conduct fieldwork, assist with assessments and reporting, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams on iconic projects. Training and development programs are available to support your growth.

Qualifications

• Tertiary degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology or Hydrogeology.
• Early career experience with contaminated land and hazardous materials (highly regarded).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for multidisciplinary work.
• Willingness to travel for field assessments.

Responsibilities

• Fieldwork collecting soil, water and ground gas samples across Melbourne and regional VIC.
• Preparing contaminated land assessments with data management and reporting.
• Supporting multidisciplinary projects and building stakeholder relationships.
• Opportunities to work with other environment and waste teams including landfill investigations and hydrogeological assessments.
