Job summary

SLR Consulting is seeking a Graduate Environmental Consultant to join either the Adelaide CBD or Nuriootpa offices. You will work within the Environmental Approvals, Closure and Management team across Australia, learning from experienced consultants while developing client relationships in the region.

The role targets up to 2 years of experience, with training provided. You will contribute to environmental impact assessments, management plans, and various mining, infrastructure, and agribusiness

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or related field.
• 0–2 years of environmental consulting experience.
• Working knowledge of SA environmental legislation and policies, standards and guidelines.
• Experience in mining, infrastructure, power or agribusiness sectors valued but not required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Consulting software and intermediate–advanced Excel skills.
• Australian Citizenship or rights to work in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with clients and SLR team members.
• Support compliance auditing and annual reporting.
• Assist with development of Environmental Impact Assessments and management plans.
• Assist with Mine Lease Proposals and related cost calculations.
• Assist in environmental monitoring across sites and projects.
• Work within multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects.
• Deliver clear, high-quality reports.
• Occasional travel to site for field studies.

An exciting opportunity has come up for a Graduate Environmental Consultant to join our team in either our Adelaide CBD or Nuriootpa offices

This opportunity has come about due to the promotion within the team leaving a void at this level. We are seeking someone with up to 2 years of experience in Environmental Consulting. Regulatory and/or extractive industry experience will be viewed favourably but is not required, with the right attitude and aptitude we will provide you with training and guidance.

This is a diverse team that is constantly growing and has the support of the wider Environmental Approvals, Closure and Management team across Australia. You will enjoy undertaking a range of project work whilst learning from this experienced team and developing client relationships throughout the region. You will be motivated and our team will empower you to develop your skills in targeted document development, technical understanding and project management.

Responsibilities

Taking part in our national Graduate Passport program, this opportunity will see you learn from highly experienced Environmental Consultants in Suoth Australia, as well as across the country. You will:

• Build and maintain effective relationships with our clients and internal SLR team members
• Support Compliance Auditing and annual reporting
• Assist with the development of Environmental Impact Assessments and management plans
• Assist with the delivery of Mining Lease Proposals, Programs for Environment Protection and Rehabilitation and Mine Operations Plans and Estimated Rehabilitation Cost calculations
• Assist in environmental monitoring across a range of areas such as surface water, groundwater, dust, soils and more
• Work within/support multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects across a range of sectors
• Deliver clear and precise, high-quality reports
• Undertake occasional travel to site for field studies.

Experience

To be successful in this role, you will be a positive and engaging character with a great sense of humour, as well as have:

• A degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field
• 0-2 years + experience in Environmental Science, preferably in Consulting.
• Working knowledge of SA environmental legislation and policies, standards, and guidelines
• Experience in the mining, infrastructure, power and/or agribusiness sectors is highly valued but not a prerequisite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with Consulting software and intermediate-advanced excel skills.
• Australian Citizenship or rights to work in Australia.
