Job summary

seek.com.au is seeking a Graduate Engineer to join our Building Diagnostics and Failure Analysis team. You will apply civil/structural/mechanical engineering principles to real building failures, focusing on water ingress, roof defects and drainage issues through field testing, analysis and reporting.

You will develop investigation plans, test hypotheses with CCTV inspections, water, pressure and thermal testing, and prepare clear technical reports for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil, structural, mechanical engineering or related field.
• Strong analytical thinking and methodical problem-solving.
• Clear technical writing and documentation.
• Interest in applying engineering fundamentals on site.

Responsibilities

• Develop investigation plans to define problems, causes and tests.
• Investigate water ingress, drainage, and roof performance through field tests.
• Assess building envelopes, drainage configurations and material interfaces.
• Use CCTV drainage inspections to document defects and assess impact on performance.
• Prepare technical reports explaining methods, findings, and recommended steps.
