Job summary

Indigenous Business Growth (IBG) in Maroochydore, QLD, is seeking a Site Engineer - Rail Systems to support installation, verification and handover of rail-systems works across multiple fronts. You will coordinate civil and systems interfaces and readiness for testing, commissioning and operational acceptance.

Role requires an engineering qualification and Australian delivery experience on rail systems, signalling, communications or power, plus site competencies and a current induction card.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in civil, electrical, electronic, systems or related discipline.
• Australian delivery experience on rail systems, signalling, communications or power considered essential.
• Current construction induction card and valid driver’s licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work packs and installation readiness checks for signalling, communications, power and control systems.
• Coordinate cable routes, pits, conduits, equipment foundations, rooms and earthing.
• Verify material, equipment, calibration and competency requirements before work starts.
• Maintain records for systems assurance, testing and handover.
• Support energisation, testing, commissioning and handover under approved access arrangements.

A major transport infrastructure project (valued at more than $1 billion) is underway across South East Queensland, delivering complex rail, station and civil works. Having won numerous major projects in Queensland in the past 12 months, the head contractor is seeking a Site Engineer - Rail Systems to support installation, verification and handover of rail-systems works across multiple work fronts, coordinating civil and systems interfaces and readiness for testing, commissioning and operational acceptance.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare work packs and installation readiness checks for signalling, communications, power and control systems
• Coordinate cable routes, pits, conduits, equipment foundations, rooms, earthing and civil provisions
• Verify material, equipment, calibration and competency requirements before work starts
• Maintain cable, termination, test, defect, configuration and red-line records to systems assurance requirements
• Support staged energisation, testing, commissioning and handover under approved access and isolation arrangements

What We're Looking For

• Engineering qualification in civil, electrical, electronic, systems, communications or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
• Australian delivery experience on rail systems, signalling, communications, power or similar systems work
• Current construction induction card and valid driver's licence
• Ability to obtain project-specific rail, site and medical competencies
• Contractor-side experience with work packs, ITPs and subcontractor coordination
