Job summary

Indigenous Business Growth is seeking a Graduate Engineer to support site engineering and project delivery on a major transport infrastructure project in South East Queensland. This entry-level role offers mentorship and exposure to brownfield construction within a regulated transport environment.

You will assist with work packs, drawings, field inspections, QA, safety inductions, and handover documentation, gaining practical experience across the project lifecycle on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or near completion.
• Transcript or expected completion date required.
• Construction placements or site exposure preferred.
• Up to two years' post-graduate experience acceptable.
• Basic ability to interpret drawings and use spreadsheets.
• Current or obtainable construction induction card and driver's license.
• Willingness to work on site and outside standard hours.
• Strong learning orientation to develop construction expertise.

Responsibilities

• Support site engineers with work pack preparation and construction planning.
• Assist with drawing management, specification interpretation and technical queries.
• Participate in field inspections, testing and quality control activities.
• Help maintain site records, progress documentation and as-built information.
• Support pre-starts, toolbox talks and safety inductions.
• Assist with commissioning and handover documentation.
• Learn construction methodology and sequencing principles.
• Support survey and dimensional control activities.
• Engage with supervisors and subcontractors to understand construction practice.
• Contribute to project assurance and compliance activities.
