Job summary

City of Gold Coast invites graduates to join the Utilities Systems Intelligence Graduate Academy. This full-time, 12-month program starts February 2027 and blends professional development with hands-on experience in data analytics and network optimisation for the City’s utilities.

You will work with SCADA, telemetry, and analytics, contributing to real projects while building skills, networks and a pathway toward professional accreditation.

Qualifications

• Degree completed within the last two years or due to start Feb 2027.
• Must have full working rights in Australia for duration of program.
• Available for full-time employment and to commence February 2027.
• Security-sensitive role requiring SOCI ACT background check.

Responsibilities

What’s on offer

Join the Utilities Systems Intelligence team and get hands‑on experience with the systems that help keep the City's water, sewer and recycled water networks running. You will work with SCADA, PI, telemetry and the operational data and analytics built around them. From day one, you will be involved in real operational challenges, building your skills in data analysis while helping develop the tools, reporting and insights that support network monitoring, modelling and performance improvement across Utilities.

All positions are classified as security-sensitive critical infrastructure positions and the successful candidate will be required to undertake an SOCI ACT Background Check.

Who can apply?

To be considered for this opportunity you must hold a recognised bachelor’s degree or postgraduate qualification from a tertiary institution, completed within the last two years or be completing prior to the commencement of the program in February 2027. Applicants must have full working rights in Australia for the duration of the program and be able to work full-time.

The Utilities Systems Intelligence Graduate welcomes graduates who have studied Bachelor of Engineering, Data Engineering, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Technology (with a data or analytics focus); and related fields.
