Job summary

Civille Pty Ltd, a Sydney-based design consultancy, seeks a Graduate Civil/Structural or Civil/Environmental engineer to join our integrated design team. Projects include green infrastructure, WSUD, waterway restoration, active transport, and civil design for public spaces.

You will work under design leaders and project managers to develop designs, analyses and drawings, while progressing toward chartered status and contributing to proposals, reporting and client liaison.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of engineering (civil, structural or environmental) with first class honours.
• Interest in blue-green infrastructure and high-quality urban design.
• Strong analytical and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering analysis and modelling, develop designs, prepare drawings, specifications and reports.
• Work within a collaborative office team to deliver design projects from concept through detailing.
• Assist with client liaison, proposals and invoicing as part of project management exposure.
• Maintain awareness of industry developments toward chartered professional status.

ABOUT THE JOB

The role is within our integrated design team, which includes engineers, landscape architects and environmental scientists. Typical projects include green infrastructure, WSUD, waterway restoration, active transport, and civil design for public open space, including design of associated infrastructure.

As a graduate engineer you would be working under our design leaders and project managers, while you develop your design and project management skills.

The primary responsibilities as a Graduate Engineer include:

Engineering analysis, modelling, developing designs, preparation of drawings, specifications and reports, field/site inspections.

Working as part of a dedicated and collaborative office-based team to deliver a variety of design projects from initial conception through to final detailing.

Working towards project management responsibilities including liaison with the client and other consultants, subcontractor management, preparing proposals and invoicing.

Maintaining an industry awareness and working towards becoming a chartered professional engineer.

The position is an office-based role.

Note that the salary for this role will be dependent on experience and commensurate with market rates.

Strong analytical skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Sound knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience using AutoCAD/Civil3D would be highly regarded.

Candidates should demonstrate the following abilities:

Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients and stakeholders

Aptitude for learning new tools and methods including software for design and analysis.

Attention to detail required for technical analysis, modelling, and production of design drawings and other documentation.
