4orward is a dynamic accounting firm seeking a Graduate Accountant for our South Melbourne office. You will learn taxation and general accounting while supporting clients and developing your career in a collaborative environment.

As a Graduate Accountant, you will work with experienced professionals on real client matters, gain practical experience across tax and accounting, and contribute meaningfully to the firm’s success. This is a full-time, on-site role with training and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting or equivalent qualification.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, tax law, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team.
• Professional written and verbal communication.
• Pursuing CPA or CA Australia qualifications.
• Interest in taxation and accounting practices.
• Internships or casual accounting work are a plus.

Responsabilités

• Assist with preparation and lodgement of tax returns for individual and corporate clients.
• Support the completion of financial statements and accounting records for clients.
• Research taxation legislation and accounting standards for compliance.
• Perform account reconciliations and general bookkeeping tasks.
• Liaise with clients to gather information and clarify requirements.
• Support senior accountants with audit and review procedures.
• Contribute to tax planning discussions and strategies.

About the role

We are seeking a talented Graduate Accountant to join our team at our South Melbourne office on a full-time basis. In this role, you will work alongside experienced accounting professionals to develop your expertise in taxation and general accounting practices. As a Graduate Accountant, you will play an important role in supporting our clients with their accounting needs whilst building a strong foundation in your accounting career. This position offers excellent opportunities to gain practical experience across a variety of tax and accounting matters, working with real clients and contributing meaningfully to the firm's success.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting with the preparation and lodgement of tax returns for individual and corporate clients
• Supporting the completion of financial statements and accounting records for clients
• Conducting research on taxation legislation and accounting standards to ensure compliance
• Performing account reconciliations and general bookkeeping tasks
• Liaising with clients to gather necessary information and clarify accounting requirements

What we’re looking for

• A Bachelor of Commerce degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting, recently completed or recently graduated
• Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles, tax law, and financial reporting standards
• Proficiency in accounting software packages and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Professional communication skills, both written and verbal
• A commitment to professional development and obtaining relevant accounting qualifications such as CPA or CA Australia
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities A genuine interest in taxation and accounting practices
• Preferred: Experience or knowledge of tax compliance, superannuation, or small business accounting
• Preferred: Practical experience gained through internships, university placements, or casual accounting work
