Job summary

Matthews Steer Accountants and Advisors in Melbourne's North West is seeking a Graduate Accountant to build a foundation for a great career. You will work with a team of professional accountants and business advisors to service clients across tax and business advisory services.

You will prepare financial accounts and income tax returns for a range of entities, develop tax reconciliations, learn areas of accounting, and deliver proactive communication with clients and colleagues at all levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Business or Commerce (Accounting major) from a recognised university.
• Ambition to grow into a high-performing professional accountant.
• Interest in public practice and helping a variety of clients and communities.
• Excellent communication skills with clients and colleagues at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial accounts and income tax returns for clients across multiple entities.
• Prepare tax reconciliations and understand tax implications.

About the role

As a Graduate Accountant, you will:

In this exciting role, you’ll build the foundation of a great career and work with a team of professional accountants and business advisors to service a growing client base on all levels of tax and business advisory services.

• Preparation of financial accounts and income tax returns for a range of entities, including identifying tax-sensitive items in profit and loss/balance sheets to trial balance.
• Understanding and ability to prepare tax reconciliations.
• Understanding of various areas of accounting.
• Delivers proactive communication across all levels with clarity and agreed expectations and deliverables
