Job summary

Thiess Curragh North is seeking an experienced Grader Operator to support safe, efficient production in a coal mining open cut environment. You will operate graders and ancillary equipment, maintaining Thiess safety standards and collaborating with supervisors to deliver reliable results.

Requirements include at least 12 months of grader experience in open cut coal mining, CAT 18M/24M exposure, a current Standard 11 and valid driver's licence; familiarity with CAT MineStar is highly regarded.

Qualifications

• 12 months' experience operating graders in open cut coal mining.
• Experience with CAT graders, ideally 18M and 24M.
• Machinery skills list signed by SSE or delegate.
• Current Standard 11 and a valid Driver's Licence.
• Experience with CAT MineStar: Command for Haulage, Fleet or Terrain.
• Strong safety focus and ability to work in a team.

The Opportunity

Are you an experienced Grader Operator with a commitment to safety and a passion for mining? Thiess is seeking experienced and motivated Grader Operators to join our high-performing team at Curragh North.

As a key member of the Curragh North team, you'll support safe and efficient production by operating graders and other ancillary equipment while contributing to high-performing mining operations.

Roster: 7/7 Day Night Rotating | Location: Curragh North, QLD | Employment Type: Full-Time

As a Grader Operator, you will:

• Operate graders and ancillary equipment safely and efficiently to achieve production targets.
• Maintain a strong commitment to Thiess' safety culture, procedures, and operational standards.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to deliver safe, reliable, and productive mining operations.

As the successful applicant, you’ll be a motivated and safety-focused operator who enjoys working as part of a high-performing team. You’ll bring a positive attitude, a strong work ethic and a commitment to operating safely and efficiently in a dynamic mining environment. You’ll be comfortable working collaboratively with your crew and take pride in contributing to safe and productive operations.

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

• Minimum 12 months’ experience operating graders in an open cut coal mining environment.
• Proven experience operating CAT graders, ideally 18M and 24M
• Verified machinery skills list (training transcripts/LMS documents) signed by an SSE or delegate.
• Current Standard 11
• Current Driver’s Licence
• Experience with CAT MineStar technologies, including Command for Haulage, Fleet and/or Terrain, will be highly regarded
• A strong commitment to safety and working effectively as part of a team
