Job summary

CoreStaff is seeking an experienced Casual Grader Operator to support road construction, rehabilitation and maintenance projects within a local government context. You will operate a grader to meet design levels, undertake final trim work and can coordinate crews and plant resources to ensure efficient delivery to specification.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of grader experience in civil works, familiarity with plans and design levels, and hold a WA HR licence with White Card.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience operating graders in civil construction or road maintenance.
• Demonstrated final trim grading experience.
• Strong understanding of road construction and maintenance techniques.
• Experience working to design levels and interpreting plans.
• Experience leading or directing work crews is highly regarded.
• Current WA HR Licence (minimum HR-B).
• White Card (Construction Safety Awareness Training).
• Grader Competency Certificate and First Aid Certificate highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate graders for road construction, rehabilitation and maintenance works.
• Perform maintenance grading and final trim grading activities.
• Construct and maintain gravel roads, road shoulders and drainage systems.
• Complete boxing out, excavation, compaction and material spreading works.
• Read and interpret plans, specifications and levels.
• Ensure all works are completed to required quality and safety standards.
• Coordinate work crews, subcontractors and plant operations when required.
• Identify and rectify defects or quality issues during construction and maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate material usage records and job documentation.
• Adhere to all WHS policies, procedures and safe work practices.
