Job summary

Logical in Melbourne is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join a pioneering GPU infrastructure team building national AI workloads. You’ll operate at the physical layer, racking, cabling, deploying and maintaining GPU compute nodes and storage in a Melbourne data centre.

You’ll work hands-on with NVIDIA GPUs, high-density fiber, and lifecycle management, collaborating with Network and AI Ops engineers to bring nodes into production and scale to 24/7 operations.

Qualifications

• Hands-on hardware experience in a data centre or similar environment.
• Strong Linux admin skills and familiarity with IPMI/iDRAC/iLO.
• Understanding of storage (NVMe, SAN, NAS), networking, and data centre power/cooling.
• Experience with firmware management, diagnostics and vendor RMA processes.
• GPU/HPC experience with NVIDIA is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, rack, cable and maintain GPU servers, compute nodes and storage across a Melbourne data centre facility.
• Support new environment build-outs, including high-density and fibre cabling and commissioning of large-scale NVIDIA GPU clusters.
• Handle hardware troubleshooting, firmware upgrades and lifecycle management.
• Deploy network and fabric hardware, including switches and fibre diagnostics.
• Work with Network and AI Ops engineers to bring compute nodes into production.
• Provide Level 2 support and help shape 24/7 operations, including runbooks and on-call processes.
• Manage hardware incidents and RMAs with tier-one vendors.
• Pick up infrastructure-as-code and automation skills as the team grows.
