Job summary

Logical Resources partners with an Australian sovereign AI cloud provider to recruit an Infrastructure Engineer for Melbourne. You’ll be at the physical layer of GPU infrastructure—racking, cabling, deploying and maintaining GPU compute nodes and storage powering national AI workloads.

You’ll work on high-density NVIDIA GPU clusters, network fabric, firmware upgrades and lifecycle management. The role offers hybrid work between the data centre and your preferred location, with opportunities to

Qualifications

• Hands-on hardware experience in data centre environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and documentation habits.
• Experience with Linux system administration.
• Familiarity with NVMe, SAN, NAS storage.
• Knowledge of power, cooling and cabling in data centres.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, rack, cable and maintain GPU servers, compute nodes and storage across a Melbourne data centre facility
• Support new environment build-outs, including high-density and fibre cabling and commissioning of large-scale NVIDIA GPU clusters
• Handle hardware troubleshooting, firmware upgrades and lifecycle management
• Deploy network and fabric hardware, including switches and fibre diagnostics
• Work with Network and AI Ops engineers to bring compute nodes into production
• Provide Level 2 support and help shape the move to 24/7 operations, including runbooks and on-call processes
• Manage hardware incidents and RMAs with tier-one vendors
• Pick up infrastructure-as-code and automation skills as the team grows
