Job summary

Bega Valley Shire Council is seeking a Governance Officer to support the delivery of its governance function. The role focuses on administering GIPA and PPIPA information access processes, providing governance advice, and maintaining registers and policies.

You will assist with applications, ensure legislative compliance, and help improve governance systems. Certificate IV in Business Admin or related field required; 21 hours per week with pro-rata remuneration.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Business Administration or a related field.
• Experience interpreting legislation and applying it
• High level competence in Microsoft applications and EDRMS
• Experience responding to information requests from third parties.

Responsibilities

• Support governance function and statutory compliance.
• Assist with GIPA and PPIPA applications and procedures.
• Maintain governance registers and policy administration.
• Provide guidance to staff on information access requirements.
