Job summary

Countersight, Canberra-based cybersecurity specialists, is seeking an entry to mid-level Software Engineer. The role involves building secure software across the stack, from frontend to backend, with opportunities to work on AI tooling.

Location: Canberra with remote and hybrid arrangements; salary is competitive based on experience. NV1 clearance desirable for some projects, and applicants should be Australian citizens.

Qualifications

• Entry to mid-level software engineer with curiosity for full lifecycle
• Interest in frontend and backend development and security
• Comfort collaborating in a small team and sharing knowledge

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain bespoke software using modern frontend and backend technologies.
• Design software with strong emphasis on security-by-design, maintainability and scalability.
• Perform root cause analysis on failures across the stack and fix problems.
• Work with AI and develop AI-focused tooling.
• Integrate and deploy software across diverse enterprise environments and support clients.
• Collaborate across disciplines and prototype new solutions.
• Write clean, well-documented code and participate in code reviews.
• Document operations and maintain knowledge in version control.
• Learn continuously and share new tools with the team.
